Erazed in the Grid

Category

Scope

What gets lost in symmetry?
The unrepeatable, the human, the self.

Erased in the Grid is a research-based zine exploring how repetition, structure, and the visual logic of the grid can erase individuality in contemporary photography. Through the works of Andreas Gursky, Gilbert Garcin, and Edward Burtynsky, the project examines how formal clarity often masks deeper systems of control, labor, and depersonalization.

I wrote the text myself, grounding the analysis in both academic research and visual interpretation. The publication combines critical writing with carefully selected image pairings to trace the relationship between form and meaning. Using laser print and a strict grid-based layout, the design reinforces the very systems the project seeks to question.
